Trip Preparations

With the trip departure about four weeks from now, I have been making preparations for the last couple of weeks. The truck has been tuned up and new tires installed. Added fender liners to rear wheel wells to contain mud and gravel. Can't understand why they're not standard equipment.
Removed rear seat and built a platform for ARB fridge/freeze, tire compressor, portable 80w solar panel and storage containers.
Space created from back seat area. Fridge (43qt) with 12v from camper shown.
The compressor, suitcase solar and 6 of 8 storage containers.
Loaded on platform.
Also added no-seeum netting to screen door and made overlays for the other camper window screens. I really am wanting a bug free refuge.
This pix shows setup of netbook and Ram mount, 2m radio and Garmin 276. Also will be carrying an Irridium sat phone for frequent comms with significant other.
Shot of the Power Wagon and FWC Hawk camper that I will be driving on this trip. Only things left to do are clothing, food, cameras and load info, maps, etc to GPS/netbook.

  1. Looks good, BX. I don't know if your PW has outside venting for the cab or if you have some sort of opening between cab and camper, but, if so, those will need no-see-um protection too. We were astonished the number of those little flying blood-suckers that could find their way through the tiniest of openings.

    1. Yes, I do have a pass through window in the camper (by the cab) it is a great source for air circulation. And, I did make a screen for it out of no-seeum netting. It attaches by velcro all around the perimeter. Expect to be in Shoshone 11th or 12th.
